My story of Resilience and Purpose
Growing up as a first-generation American in California, raised by two resilient Belizean parents, I learned early on the values of hard work, determination, and the power of dreams. My childhood was marked by overcoming adversity, including battling asthma caused by the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck at birth. But these challenges only fueled my drive to rise above and make a difference.
Life has thrown its fair share of hardships my way. I was shot five times, an experience that profoundly changed my outlook on life. It was a moment of reckoning, a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of living with purpose. Surviving this ordeal wasn’t just about physical recovery; it was about rebuilding my spirit, reinforcing my resilience, and finding a renewed sense of direction.
